2021 Elk Meat Pole

My hunting partner is just a lurker, so posting on his behalf. That’s his biggest bull, taken after 15 or so days of grinding.

There is no feeling like meat hanging and smoke rolling out of the canvas tent.

Man I love that rifle, I’ve got 4 just like it. Shot my first deer when I was 5 with a .250 savage with a mannlicher stock.
Thank you. Steyr Mannlicher in .270 Winchester. Got a 6.5x54 Mannlicher Schoenauer that I need to restore.

Seems like every little 5 point is from Colorado and every big bull is Wyoming or Montana. Small sample size but pretty crazy! Congrats to everyone! I haven’t had my turn in the barrel yet, but I’m excited!

First elk, all the good stuff public land, solo (except for the pack out and quartering), piled up within 30 yards. Southern Oregon August 5th right after the thermals switched before sunset so I could sneak in. 80 yard shot, from a 28 Nosler 175 grain bullets. Extremely grateful for my first elk and a Roosevelt at that. Looking forward to what is posted on this thread.

I need to see more cow elk pics. Big bulls are great and all but the added touch of cow elk pics are underappriciated

Already posted mine but posting here for one of my hunting partners. His first archery bull and biggest to date for him. I killed on day 8 and he killed on 14. Colorado. 49 inch inside spread and 19 inch browtines. Even with the weak 5/6 he still scored over 330. Just a heavy wide bull.
