2020 Load Development

9x57 Mauser.
250gn Speer Hot Cor, sized down to .356
Turkish or Egyptian mil-surp 7.92x57 brass, necked up. 40-47gn worked up in half grain increments.

I'm working up loads with IMR4064 to match the iron sight zero (no point in worrying about velocity!) on this old thing. Im trying to replicate factory loads that haven't been available for 60+years.

Not a lot of online data available, other than 2 choices of powder & a huge disparity in maximum loads. It's a freaking minefield!

6.5-284 tikka with carbon six 20” barrel. Running 156 bergers at 2800 with N570. Should be a hammer for deer.

Sierra 130gr TGK and h4350 in 6.5cm Tikka. Loaded to ~Tikka M+ mag length they are .010" off the lands and .187" of bearing surface in the neck.

They are pretty cheap. I'm hoping they shoot well and I can just use them for practice/groundhog matches/hunting.
