Last couple years, the PNW Sportsman’s show was kind of a bust. They didn’t bring any new gear and had older stuff for a whopping 20% off.

I will probably try the furnace zip offs as they should fit into my whitetail kit very well.

1. Very confused on the QZ Pullover. The description seems to indicate it's a wind layer for early season. If it's akin to mountain jacket from sitka and can be used as a wind jacket over other things, that's fine and I'm interested. If it's just nylon that provides a relatively weak wind barrier, I don't see where this will fit for me.

2. I was originally annoyed at the addition of grey as a big reveal, but after rethinking it a bit, I like it. It adds another color of gear I can buy for everyday use, but also use while hunting. Especially the base layers. I'm surprised that there isn't more SG/FL overlap since Rinella is such good friends with the guys at SG. Was hoping for SG in Fusion colors.

3. The guide lite short looks sort of like modern golf shorts, but I'm not complaining. I will probably get a pair and the snap shirt for staying cool in every day activities.

4. Really interested in the Uncompahgre 2.0. Curious how the change in material impacts wind resistance among other things. Sounds like it will add stretch, which is never a bad thing.

Overall, there is a lot of gear on there that I look at it's everyday use more than hunting gear. So from a hunting perspective I am kind of 'meh' but I will definitely try some things out.

I see the pullover as something I wear daily more than a piece of gear going into my pack. Same with the ranger, just additional daily wear items that are comfortable and don't look silly if you get breakfast after pheasant/squirrel hunt in the mornings.

The shorts look comfy and if they're all merino/nylon should dry quick, which be nice when I am bow fishing flooded levees in Missouri in the 90* 80% humidity.

It sounds like the new uncompahgre has replaced the whole jacket with the chest material. Which results in a quiter and less shiny finish (but likely adds the 3oz) and is cut with a more athletic fit, so if you felt the stomach or arms/shoulders were too bulky on the original, this would be an improvement.

I love the addition of the gray color. But I’m trying to figure out how I use it with all of my existing FL camo? It might go okay with fusion but I guess we will see. Might just be something I buy more for every day use

Seems to be the general consensus. Good gear to show up to family functions after a hunt in without needing to change to much clothing.

The trends, from what I hear this year, are the major companies, Sitka, First Lite, etc are expanding their casual line of clothing more than their hunting line, technically. First Lite is expanding both for those that possibly want to use it more for everyday wear and for those that like natural tones for hunting. Personally, I was always hesitant to use dry earth in the whitetail woods because of wreckless shooters, but I do like the gray option for the whitetail woods. Just remember, in the days of old and Fred Bear's time, Blue Jeans and the PA tuxedo were the trends of hunting.

Hopefully they updated the length of the sleeves on the klamath. I have the 1/4 zip and wear large in every top FL makes but the klamath has 3 inches of material past my finger tips. The sleeves are a solid 4 inches longer than the kiln (which has a thumb hole and needs to run a little longer)

Thanks. My wife is 5’ 8” and 115 lbs. She runs the small in their base layers and jackets, but doesn’t own any of their pants... I want to order her the merino pants for this season. Would small bet her ideal size? Stick with small? She has long legs so hoping they won’t be too short.

The thing id worry about is the length, the waist small would fit her well. Little Jordan’s is 5’ 6” 130 and the smalls fit her great. If your wife has pretty long legs I’d consider bumping to a medium. I have long legs and I sized up to a large and am happy with that decision. The sizing chart should be pretty accurate on their site.

Just over the saddle
Maybe on a couple items. Hated the waistband on the Kuiu zip off long johns so I'm curious if this will be better.
Like the gray. I can mix it in with my everyday clothes.

A fix back east
I think the only thing in the gray that I'll order is the brooks down sweater. I need new down jacket for both daily use and occasional hunting use. When hunting in the Adirondacks, it's a lot of walking and a little bit of sitting. The gray is fine for that since visibility is crappy anyway and there are lots of gray rocks laying around everywhere. It's too bad it's not available now, because I'd have ordered it already.

I need a new pair of pants, but I think I'll just patch my obsidians - again, and get a softshell pair for later season active hunts and earlier season sits. The consensus on the catalyst seems to be that they're not windproof, so I might have to switch to Kuiu.

Some new additions for the women's line. Including the Brooks jacket, Obsidian pant and different base layers. I've worn the Brooks, Obsidians and the base layers if anyone has questions on fit.

The full zip base layers are going to be nice and that new color is awesome in person!
do you know if they are going to release the lacrosse boots?

Still trying to figure out if the uncompaghre 2.0 is going to be much better than the original. Looking forward to trying it out.
