Finally connected on a decent buck. After being deployed for all of last season and getting extended due to covid, I wasn't sure how my season was going to look. Found this guy on the last day I was going to be able to hunt. I originally spotted him from 850 yards and watched him bed. 20201024_081915.jpgSnuck in to 153 and 7mag did the rest. I was really surprised with just how much damage the Barnes 139grLRX did.20201025_080217.jpg20201026_084055.jpgthe hike out was pretty brutal. Was on hands and knees at point trying to find something solid to grab onto. Tried to grab ahold of several large rocks the would then just break loose and slide down past you.20201024_102159.jpgIMG-20201011-WA0000.jpeg

Sweet buck!
That country is deceptively challenging.
You earned it and thanks for serving
Couldn't have said it better. " deceptively challenging". If I hadn't have seen him on his feet I would have never seen him.
The week before I had seen this buck up on that flat and watched him drop into the canyon on the right..and never saw him again. I know he bedded in one of those folds, I just couldn't spend all day with him. 20200929_181553.jpg
