Here’s a buck I just took with a rifle. First found him in July during a scouting trip along with another 180 type buck and a mystery buck I saw that seemed to have really good potential with quite a bit of growing left. To make a long story short, after 15 days of scouting, and not being able to turn up anything better, this area seemed to hold the best opportunity. So that’s where I headed for the hunt.
Lots of pressure and hot/dry weather had the bucks hunkered down low in timber. I finally turned up both of the bigger bucks and snuck to 190 yards for a shot. And there it ended!
He’s 27” wide, 13” G4’s and a huge body! Probably one of the biggest bodied deer I have shot...one of those when you walk up to you’re just in awe of body size.
