2019 Spring Bear Success Thread

We had to put a halt to the halibut fishing late afternoon to go hunt right after we started getting into them good. He took the bear right after catching an 80lbs halibut a few hours before. These PWS surf and turf trips are always a blast!

I finally connected with this old boar I've been hunting for the past 5 years! I finally figured out that he was circling downwind before he came in to my bait and then he was flanking where I sat to see if I was there. So I moved location one evening when the wind changed and I knew he couldn't get downwind. I caught him flanking my old sitting spot and that was the end. My third bear of the spring was a very special one, a nice grizzly I was able to get with a wood arrow and stone point out of my longbow, something I’ve been trying to get done for a couple years...

Great looking bears, I'm getting stoked for my Idaho hunt next month.

Envious of you bear hunters, great looking bears.
What caliber is the lever action? Love lever action rifles.

I mainly use .45-70. Has worked great for years of bear hunting.
