I've been following along on your review on AT all last week. Very much appreciated! The one thing off the bat that has really kept me from giving this bow a chance is the weight coming in at 4.6lbs. As a western hunter, would you consider this a bow that you would take with you in the back country? Thanks again for the review!

It balances rather well and doesn't feel that heavy to me. I'm liking it enough, it is definitely in the running to be in the backcountry with me in 2017

I didn't think I would like the 90% let-off but man it holds great and still easy transition to let down at full draw.

You are very welcome !

I haven't looked at their 2017 lineup yet, but it says this bow goes to 31 1/2" draw. If I used the 65-75% mods do you think I could adjust the valley to gain an extra 1/2" or so on the draw and still stay at or below 80%? I've tried shooting at 31 1/2" and it's just too short for me, as I already shoot with a bent bow arm at 32 1/2".

I shot this right after it came out and I was impressed as well. I liked the Prime better (actually I thought last years Rival was all I needed as an upgrade, so I bought one), but this was second on the list for me. Really nice bow.

It would be close but with some cable twisting I think it's doable

I would wager that most everyone shooting an Elite is technically higher than 80%

That may be. And until they enforce it, everyone will continue to use whatever they want. I haven't checked my Freak, but where I have my Old Glory set it's 77%. I used to change it up to closer to 65% when I'd shoot 3D with it, preferred the higher holding weight and less valley for that.
