Nice Review!

After reading this and your Pure Gold review, I think I'm going with exactly the same Ascent Verdict you just reviewed (except with micro adjustments).. Actually had already decided before this review, but this makes me feel better about my choice :D My only complaint is how far they stuck the knob out. I know why they did it but damn it's out there lol. Wish they would have compromised and only made it stick out a hint more..

The only thing I'm debating is what length dovetail to get.. I like my sight sitting as far away as I can from the riser.. With a 2" housing, 28.5" draw, and a 3/16" peep I wonder if a 4" will be long enough or if I should step up to the 6"?

I went with the new Pure standard mount. It is longer than my 4" dovetail and much lighter. Great sight above, I have it on my new Xpedition Perfexion.

Not a naysayer here but don't you want the bubble to be plumb with the pins, vertically? Unless I'm missing something, that's a poor 3rd axis adjustment.

How do you adjust the red pointer, is it micro-adjusted?

BTW, 6" Pure Gold 5-pin slider is what I run.

yep, thats exactly what you want. the integrated bubble is much easier to get that alignment. The red pointer is adjusted by turning the slider knob. Its now just hidden behind the 45 degree tape
