2015 idaho elk

So this oregon boy is planning on elk hunting idaho general season in 2015. 9 days toward the end of September timber. I'm about positive I won't get any first hand scouting in so my research will consist of maps, Google earth and websites like this one. Anybody willing to point me to a promising unit/zone to start researching? Type of terrain is a non issue. I'll hunt anywhere. Prefer backpack/bivy hunting. Thanks in advance for any help
