Well I picked up trav from the airport today in idaho. We grabbed some lunch then headed for the mountains. We got camp set up and hiked to a ridge overlooking the drainage we are hunting tomorrow morning.
Holy Santa Clause shit. Talk about one hell of a workout.
Short version. 364 yard shot to the boiler maker. She tipped over in about 30 seconds. Problem is we were just shy of 7 miles from the truck. As luck would have it, there was a logging road we could see. We processed her and put her over a creek. Then hiked the 6.5 miles back to the truck. More to come later.
As much as I wanted to kill a Montana bull as well on this trip, just didn't work out. Anyway, one awesome elk hunting trip! Got to spend some time with good friends and make new ones. Onto mule deer!
