Hey Archery Experts,

I have an Elite Energy 32 that I bought last December, great bow so far until two weeks ago. It has developed a squeak coming from the top cam/upper limb area. Every time I draw you can hear it for just a nanosecond but when I let down it gets loud and drawn out. After the let down and during the next draw cycle it is really loud with a slight crackle to it.

The limbs look good with no cracks, string and cable were replaced in August. At this point I am not sure what to do...I went through this same thing with an older Hoyt Rampage and one of the reasons I upgraded to a newer bow last year.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks much...

Well use the warranty. It's in an elite...assuming you didn't dry fire it or your way underspinned and that caused the stress issues as it sounds. It shouldn't be doing that. Either way its an elite. Best warranty around. Take it to an elite pro shop. I love my E32.

They have also come out with redesigned limb pockets for 2016 some elite owners have complained about a squeak and this redesign may have addressed this? Id give them a call

I have the E32. I had a bad squeak on the cable guard slide. It took a while to figure out where it was coming from, but the bow shop did replace the slide for free. They suggested cleaning the slide every so often the prevent any plastic building up. It did fix the problem. This makes me like Mathews roller guard design that much better, but I do love my Elite. I had always been a Mathews shooter before "taking the challenge".

When I hear of a squeak on a bow I think of two possibilities: The cable slide, and the spacers or washers at the limbs/cams. They should be able to lube or replace either easily.

I went through a similar saga with my Elite Pure....for me turned out to be limb pockets. I took the limbs off, waxed the spacers in the pockets, and never heard a squeak again (going on a year).

Hard to mess it up, but give it a quick glance so you know which cable goes where. Just in case
