2013 Turkey Harvest Pics

Anyone from Wyoming getting any turkeys? I haven't been able to get up to my spot since all the snow/road closures.

Two buddies and I went up this past weekend to a private ranch between Torrington and Cheyenne. The birds weren't responding to calls at all, but we all got our tags filled one way or the other. I think I walked five miles back and forth herding a flock back towards the last shooter.

Was able to seal the deal on this guy on Sat - really wanted to use the bow but they were not responding very well so I took the shotgun.
And wouldn't you know it - shot him at 38 yards. Had a pretty thin beard and his spurs were just shy of an inch but he was sure pretty at full strut.

First time I have really gotten a chance to use the Grab-it on my MR Dragonslayer and it worked awesome.

Tagged out in Montana!

Bird # one. Opening day. I tried to set my son Isaac up for the shot, but this after it felt like we did circles around the tree trying to keep him pointed toward the bird, the tom still gave me the only shot.


Isaac was unable to go with my on the second hunt last weekend when I killed this bird in a new location. I also called a bird in for a friend the day before that he killed.

Lots of beautiful Merriam turkeys, I thought maybe I'd throw in my two Easterns from this spring. The firs one is a 2 year old from public land two weeks ago and the next two are from tonight. Great season for me and lots of great pictures everyone!
