I have been waiting months for the new
Vortex Razor HD and the wait was worth it!!

As soon as you pick them up you realize
you are holding quality optics, they have
a new feel to them. Vortex really hit it
out of the park with the new HD.

They are lighter than the old Razors and
the edge to edge clarity is super crisp, light gathering
is better than any 42mm binocular that I have ever owned.

I will be doing more testing in a few months
when I chase mulies and speedgoats around
WY.

I have the older model Razors, but the new model I hear is much lighter. Maybe I will get a chance one of these years to use the warranty and they will replace them with the new model! Thought this was going to happen last year as my binos were floating down the stream, but they emerged with no harm.

Rodney do you know why they changed the design? I just love the open hinge design. Was it so they could get them lighter?

Their goal was a ultra high quality optic
that was compact and I believe they were able
to cut weight by going away from the open hinge.

takes quite a bit to cut 5 oz
