2003 Chevy diesel mechanic wanted

Get it started. Run it into tree. Sometime the insurance deductible is cheaper than fixing it.

Fuel primer pump gasket rebuild. $10 and 2 hrs if you are like me and not mechanically inclined.
Put a new fuel primer/filter housing on it today. From doing some internet searching the CP3 still has to be good otherwise it wouldn't build enough pressure for the truck to run. So it about has to be sucking at somewhere in between the filter and the CP3

If you can get your hands on a vacuum gauge there is a port in between the filter and cp3 pump. Check for vacuum, should be 4-5 inHg at idle so maybe slightly less during cranking. You might want to find someone with a scan tool to check fuel rail pressure. Also check your oil for fuel contamination. It could have a bad injector causing low rail pressure and it could dump the fuel into the cylinders or have excessive fuel return rates. Not sure where the rubber fuel lines turn into steel but you could also try to overlay a clear fuel line from the filter outlet to the Cp3 pump and check for air bubbles.
