Such a special time of year.
I had been keeping tabs on my local herd, and was able to witness a doe drop her fawn. Such a cool experience. Can’t wait to see what the little one grows into!
My dog brought me a live fawn yesterday. I was shooting my bow and heard it bawling out in the field, here comes my black lab carrying it to me. Got him to drop it and after the poor thing stared at us for a minute it bounded off towards the woods.
Almost ran over one last week getting an overgrown food plot mowed. It barely moved out of the way. I had to abort my mission. This morning my wife and I saw 2 running around with mama does. Playing and frolicking all over. They grow up so fast.
Was up at deer camp this weekend a had a little one running parallel to me while mowing the trails. Later was on the cabin roof blowing sticks and debris off and right on the peak laid a lower leg from a fawn. Damm coyotes must of killed it and some bird must of grabbed what was left over to munch on. Never seen that before. Made me feel real sad.
