I just picked up a tenmile too from eurooptic couldn't resist at that price. gonna handle both of them before deciding which one to keep

I hit the second hand market for some killer deals in gently used glass. I typically stay away from low/mid range and consider higher end glass that I wouldn't have been willing to pay full retail.

going to keep the tenmile and return or sell the zeiss v4. if the reticle anf fp doesn;t bother you tenmile seems like a really good value at the current prices

I don’t think is a totally fair. You can definitely buy a “good” scope for $1,000 —especially when you consider demo or used models.

I have plenty of mid-tier scopes on expensive mountain rifles. I don’t see the benefit of super expensive glass on the rifle when I’m not shooting super long range. I can still see to legal shooting hours just fine.

And I’ve got Swaro ATS and EL, so it’s not like I’m necessarily budget-driven.

I can buy whatever I want budget wise I don't like the nightforce for whatever reason had a bunch and sold them.

You have a $2,600 Seekins Element? And you have a $1,000 scope budget?

Based on the info given, I'd sell the rifle, buy a good scope (you can't upgrade scopes), and buy a budget rifle that you can incrementally upgrade as you go.

Yeah you don't need to drop 2k to get a highquality optic that tracks anymore.
I've run some really high end stuff and I'm blown away by the Trijicon Credo 4-16x50.
Eurooptic has an insane deal on them right now, I switched them over on my 3 primary LR rifles.
Great ED glass, tough as hell, and perfect tracking.

I have a VX3 and a Z3 on my rifles. I’d go with a VX5HD and carry a few more ounces, if I were to do over

Bushnell lrhs without a doubt the reticle was essentially designed for that cartridge and rock solid reliable turrets

I have had good luck with the LRTS 3-12. I run that on two rifles, but its a bit too heavy for the hunting I like to do. The current version from GAP is pretty similar. I have not found the perfect 3-15, <20oz scope with rock solid adjustments. VX5 is close but its not reliable, its a housecat posing as a predator. Forced to pick a new scope I would look at Trijicon, seems others on here are having good luck there, or 3-10 SHV.

Negatives for me:
SWFA no illumination
SHV F1 the 2.8-3.1 eye relief may be a concern, weight and over budget.
Tenmile over budget and reticle hard to see at lower mag.
Credo SFP 56 too large for some applications.
Leo durability?!

I would say it’s a toss up between the SWFA, Credo 2-10 FFP and SFP Nightforce 3-10. If ok buying used try to find a deal on NF NXS 2.5-10…?

I'd take a serious look at the Trijicon. One of my PH2s wears a V4, the other a Trijicon Credo. For me, I prefer the credo though both are great options. For my eyes, the Trijicon is just a touch sharper and prefer the retical. Build quality of both is great, but the Trijicon just feels as good or better and you can find it for less than the V4. Really splitting hairs though...
