I have a 1963 model Remington 700 (second production year) chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. The action is in great shape, but the barrel is not good, inside or out. It is basically a project action. It's been professionally fitted to the CDL stock it's currently in, which is a newer year model. I have fired the rifle in this stock, but not since I had it fitted. I believe the action wasn't fully seated due to a small screw on the rear left side of the receiver that isn't present on my newer 700's, but the stock has been relieved to clear the screw now. I bought it for a project rifle, and just haven't done anything with it. It's too nice to just sit around and gather dust. If you've ever handled these early model 700's, you know they just feel and sound better than later models. I believe it has a set of Warne 2 piece bases on it that I'll leave on. I'd like to get $600 for it. Possible trade for a LA magnum Tikka T3x or Tikka 223 with 1:8 twist. I would prefer stainless in either, but will consider any. I will get more pictures up this afternoon, these are all I have in my phone.
