1911’s in general, 9mm versions specifically

I did have an issue with the CS (which I purchased through the Staccato CPO program). The slide would not lock in the open position after the last round. I tried both of the magazines that came with it (OEM and "brand new" per the company). I eventually figured out that both magazines are the problem. (I put a C 17 round magazine in the CS and had no issues manually racking and locking the slide with an unloaded magazine.) The company sent me a warranty claim link, and I'm sure it will all be fixed. But this development isn't cool. I've had zero problems with the 6 mags I have for the C.

Anyone else have OEM mag troubles with the CS (2024)?
When I ordered the DPO plate for my CS, I ordered two more 15-round magazines. One of them had the same problem as above. WTH? Good on Staccato for the last batch (they just sent me 2 replacement magazines and said I could keep the defective ones), but why is this a problem?

That's pretty weird, and not cool. I don't have a CS, and haven't had any problems like this with my C.

Are you seeing any reports online of other guys having a similar problem with 15rd mags in the CS? If so, it would seem like a mag issue. If not and it's just yours, it makes me think the slide release on your CS may be just a bit out of dimension, where the floor-plate of the mags push up against it. But that's just a guess. Also, on the user-error side of things, be double-sure that you're not riding the slide release in any way.

The only times I've had similar problems with other guns, has been when either the mag springs wear out, or the lifter shelf on the floor plate wears down and doesn't have enough surface left to engage the slide release fully. Had both happen a bunch on Para-Ordnance mags.

Something to know, is that any of this, including slightly riding the slide release, can cause a bigger problem in wearing out the engagement surfaces on the slide release and in the notch it catches on, on the slide. It can round the tips off in barely engaging, leading to a situation where it's harder for them to engage with each other, so it's something you want to catch quick, diagnose, and fix.
