18 minutes of deer hunting with a trad bow

Hi all,

I just put this video together, even though I got all the footage about 5-6 months ago. It was my first time hunting the fallow deer rut with a trad bow. Hopefully I learned enough to put me in a good position for next year.

Not using expandables, mate. I'm using a broadhead made here in Australia. A 'Stealth' by Outback Broadheads.

I've thought about that. We don't do much with tree stands/saddles over here, but I might build a bit of a blind in a likely travel corridor before next rut.

I've never done anything with a decoy., and not many over here do. It might be a good thing to try.

I don't even know if there are many places to buy decoys over here. It might take some searching!

At the same time, I'm thinking about building some sort of natural ground blind in a hot spot next year and sitting in it for a day or two. See what happens.

Besides fishing, bowhunting goats and pigs is going to be my focus over summer, to hopefully build my confidence for the fallow rut.
