17WSM vs 5mm

Before any feathers get ruffled, I have no dog in this fight! I tried doing an internet search, but could find very little on the 5mm round, so I thought to ask here. Does anyone have any numbers or know of a place that compares the two rounds. From what I can gather, the two are somewhat similar in performance, I think? Is there a point that there is a large distinction between the two in performance?
