Just getting back from my trip out to Nebraska chasing Muleys. Had a blast, again. This year was quite a bit shorter, so there was pressure to find deer quicker, and we weren't disappointed.

First evening out, we were spotting doe after doe bedded down, which had us really amped up to be in them so quickly.

Sadly, no bucks were located that first evening. The next morning however, we setup on the highest Sandhill in the area, and within an hour located a group of several bucks about a mile out.

We had the perfect wind, so we quickly made a game plan and made our move to close the distance. By the time we got close to them, they were all bedded down. We crawled into position, ranged the deer at 45 yards, and the rest is history. Super stoked for my second ever mule deer, and can't wait to go back! It's a welcomed change from whitetails from a stand!

I am a whitetail hunter from east. I want to do a totally different kind of hunt. Spot and stalk Mulies!
I have been researching areas/states to try. I am really leaning towards Pine Ridge are of Nebraska.
Looks like nice open country with some small patches of woods for stalking. Plus has some high spots to glass.
Anyone hunt this area? I am a bowhunter, so close getting close is important!
