16man Seek Outside Tipi is a Beast

Made the transition away from our Cabelas Bighorn 3 tent to a Seek Outside 16 man Tipi for hunting here in the mountains of PA. God is this Tipi a dream. I still just can't believe that something this spacious can pack down to a size so small and so light. It truly is amazing. I had the chance to pitch it for the first time this weekend and burn in the stove while watching some playoff football. It took me maybe 10min to pitch the tipi, and another 10min to get the stove and pipe up. Amazing. We would wrestle our Cabelas tent for 45min to get it up.

I was surprised how well the Seek Outside XL Titanium stove heated a shelter this big. I was anticipating having to use my FourDog outfitters stove to get it comfortable inside. I think it got down to the low 20s here on Sunday and the SO stove made it T-shirt comfy inside.

The stitching and construction of this thing is really really nice. All the stake points, zippers, guy outs, netting, etc is nicely reinforced.

I gotta get this thing seam sealed but I think I'm going to need a few more beers and tubes of Silnet lol. I sent some pictures of this thing to my hunting friends and it really is hard to show just how big this thing is on the inside. The pictures don't do it justice. We are EASILY going to fit 6 guys on cots, stove, all of our gear, and maybe even some chairs in this thing. Im 6'1" and the headroom in this is awesome. There is PLENTY of room for guys to be standing around hanging out or changing.

I found through trial that the damper works much easier with the pipe on the outside of the damper. I tried it inside like in your pics a couple times and the damper flap was getting kind of jammed up with the bottom of the pipe.

Yeah the damper was giving me some issues as well. Even by itself, without the stove pipe in it, the flapper wanted to bind a little bit. I also found it hard to keep the damper adjusted the way I wanted. It kept wanting to fall closed. So maybe some springs and washers on the gross bar will give me the tension I need to keep it dialed the way I like it. I was getting 2.5-3hr burn times with seasoned hardwood...which I thought was ok.

probably a dumb question....but do you guys "fold" your tipis before you put them back in their sacks? Or just cram it all into the stuff sack

I fold mine loosely.

I'll pull it out by the top, fold the sides in a little near the base, then roll it up from the top. Then cram it all in the bag.

Just spread a little more the metal part where the damper handle enter on each side,make it touch the damper collar a little,it will become tighter and will not fall anymore.
