.166 outsert system

Two outserts that really stand put for me are the TI two piece from Ethics and the same version from podium. Both have been about as good as I can find if 4mm outserts with standard threads. The second tier of good components options are the one piece ss/al or SS versions for both Easton and Victory. Both will make you a pretty robust front on 4mm shafts. Component wise it's night and day better than it was 10 years ago.

Have you tried the Easton Titanium 4MM half out? It is a one piece and does not go over end of arrow, but I used them 2 years ago with 4mm axis and they were as tough as anything I used in 5mm. I probably will use these again if I decide to go back to 4mm. I would say only downside is your broadhead/point is obviously about 1" past end of your arrow essentially creating a lever, but again it always spun true when I hit something hard. these come in 55gr only. So, with a 125gr head you are at 180gr which I like.

I have not, however I ordered a set of the TI version CMI which are the exact same design. I am going give them a try this spring. Other than testing them, and others in general use I plan on using them for a couple bear hunts this spring. Last year it was mechanical heads I tested, this year its 4mm arrows and components....should be fun.

Going back to what you stated about 5mm components. I have to agree. At one time I would have said you'd be crazy to use anything but a HIT and collar (long enough to go past the start of the hit) however the new shorter TI and steel half out for 5mm are practically speaking as strong and durable as you will every need and make a simpler build.
I will tell you something else. While I dont fit this category, for guys that are primally whitetail hunters you'd be crazy to dig any deeper than a .224 shaft like a Spartan or Rival with either a all steel Ethics half out or a steel insert with a weight that come with both shafts.

Ethics makes deep six components and points. I glued them in with kimsha hot melt as a single piece. I also shoot the hyde glue in broadhead.
