162 vs 108 ELDM

Anyone have experience shooting game with both of these bullets? I’ve been shooting the 162 out of a 7-08 for a few years now and still have yet to lose an animal. Coyotes, deer, elk, moose, wolf have all fallen over very quickly.

My only complaint, is the potential for excessive meat damage, in my experience on the offside shoulder. I know this is partly a shot placement deal, but the shot isn’t always perfect and if the animal’s offside shoulder is back, I have lost meat.

Would the 108 ELDM from a 6mm Creed cause less damage if hit the same way?

Thanks!

Maybe proportional to the bullet weight but I'm not sure the difference will be radical.

I've zapped a bunch of critters with 162 ELDMs from a 7-08 at various impact speeds and seen a number of animals killed with 108 ELDMs from a 6 ARC. Maybe it seemed like less damage (average impact velocity was definitely lower) but overall it was the same time of wound track.

In my 6 creed I run 95 LRXs. That's what I tote when I don't want to tear up any meat.

I guess in essence, that is my question. Does damage directly correlate to bullet weight when bullet construction and velocity are similar. Bullet diameter shouldn’t be a huge variable. Thanks for your reply!
