Long shot, but does anyone have any 16 ga shells laying around that they’re not going to use? Could be lead or steel. I can buy new, but thought I’d see if anyone has some and no longer has a 16 ga.

I''ve been buying every box at walmart every time I go for the past year. They're hard to find for sure. Good luck man!

I agree, but at $15 a box for trap loads I thought I’d check to see if anyone had some laying around.

2 9/16 (or 2 1/2 here in the US) is the original length from before 2 3/4” was a thing. Boss is an uber high end gunmaker with 100+ years of guns out there with 2 9/16” chambers. Unless youre getting turkey or waterfowl ammo dont let it scare you, it works fine and kills birds and clays just fine even if it has 1/16 or even 1/8 oz less shot than youre used to.

I have an old box of Federal 16ga that came to me... somehow. God knows how. I've never even seen a 16ga shotgun. But I'd be happy to sell it your way. It looks to be mostly Federal hi-Power 2 3/4 1 1/8oz #6, with a couple #4's mixed in as well.

I understand why they make them, but not why they quit making all the other 16 ga options.

Hopefully this is bumping your WTB!

Because 2 9/16 is more universal. There isnt really a down side to it, but it fits more guns. Probably a non-issue for any company other than boss or one of the other best british makers, but probably makes sense for them. If youre worried, the regular 16ga remington game-loads with the black hulls that are labelled 2 3/4”, are actually 2 9/16” hulls if you measure them. Its close enough that it doesnt make a difference in a 2 3/4” chamber.
