Most people are finding good nodes around 55.5-56.What’s you powder charge for the 156 and R26?
Use a good powder... 565!!!!!Dude you’re everywhere!
My brother just bought a Tikka in 6.5 PRC and I get to work up a load for him.
He wanted me to buy one too but I’m good with my Mighty -08.

Seems like most guys find that bullet shoots well ~.025 off, but every gun is different. There are a lot of people running longer than what Berger says.tikka t3x with a 22" proof carbon prefit. using the hornady thingie, for the 156 bergers i'm seeing 3.065 to the lands. any suggestion for an OAL to try at least for starters? berger says max oal is 2.955.
Wonder if Lapua is similar as ADG?I would be happy with that. My old self would have tried to squeeze every little FPS I could but my new self says barrel life and consistency trump speed.
Crazy how barrels varyGreat info, thank you! I’ve found my best is right at 55.5gr H1000 hovering around 2850 and grouping at .29” out of once-twice fired hornady. Really wish I could find ADG!
Going to send it this season but need to do some range validation. Love the rifle and feel these bergers are going to be absolute missiles on mulies.
I was using H1000 but wasn't getting the ES and SD's I wanted. Switched to N565 and found 58 to be a good node. 2854 10 shot average into a 1.3 moa group with Lapua brass and CCI 250's.Anyone shooting N565 out of a carbon 22” w/ muzzle brake? Starting with 54gr work up to 60 but don’t want to push it too far.
Anyone using magnum primers? I have a bunch of rem 9-1/2 magnums. All I,ve loaded is 210's. I'm at 2890 in a 20 in Fierce suppressed.Just saw this thread. I’m beginning load workup for my brother’s Tikka using the 156 EOL and R26. 24” barrel, Nosler brass.
Are you using magnum or standard primers? I have a supply of Winchesters in each flavor.
