140 ELDM vs 147 ELDM Terminal Performance

^^^^Bingo, I'm of the opinion that at average hunting range the 140 ELDm is the ticket in a creed. I actually wish they made a 130. I feel like the 130 Berger Hybrid shines in the creed due to this. Inside of say 600 velocity carries a big stick as all VLDs have a high BC.

Many times we get wrapped up in BC without looking at all of the Data and matching a bullet to the capabilities of the case capacity.
Well you’re in luck, they do…

147s at 2910 out of my 20" PRC have dropped several large bodied KS white tails. I am going to use them for a cow elk hunt in Wyoming this November.

Have you used them much since? What powder are you using? Custom chamber or factory? Fit in a 2.95 mag?
Yes I realize this thread isn’t brand new.

Thanks!!

It is a CarbonSix prefit, N565, I load them just under mag length, and I shot my cow elk at 611 yards with the 147s. First shot broke her shoulder, took out her heart and exited, sshe started walking so I put another one in her lungs, started walking again, so I shot for her neck, missed bone, but took out the esophagus and jugular. She went down a few steps after that. Recovered the 2nd shot from the far side hide and it weighed just over 80 gr.

My partner used the 108 ELDM out of his 6 creed and his dropped at the shot at 658. He hit her just above the shoulder, below the spine. When we took the front quarter off, you could see through the ribs to the other side, about a golfball sized hole.

I ended up using my 6 creed with the same load on 5 deer this year. 3 were bang flops and two went 20-30 yards. My grandsons buck was over 250lbs and was shot at 253 yards through the shoulder and lungs. Found the bullet in the cape and it weighed 33.52 gr.IMG_9215.jpegIMG_9214.jpegIMG_7692.jpeg8946371591742185461.jpegIMG_8830.jpegIMG_8772.jpegIMG_8762.jpeg
