Meopta is so close to the top tier that it should be the only one considered if not jumping to the top. Maven makes great glass but it’s definitely not Meostar great. They are seriously impressive. A friend of mine has a pair and they stand their ground against my NL. Only things that show big differences is FOV and low light.

I’d look for a used EL12x50? You might not meet your 1500 dollar price point but I’d bet you could get under 2K at least? Might be worth saving up a bit for?
