124 gr Hammer Hunters in 6.5 PRC

It’s a 7.5. Twist. I knew I was going to be running coppers along with the 156 bergers so I went that route. Yea I would say your plenty broken in hahaha. I hit a flat spot in velocity around 53 grains as well going 3040. Hopefully the faster load works out. Another thing you could check for is a carbon ring. I got a bad one in my 300 win mag which caused a pressure spike. Once I cleaned it out, pressure went back down.

I ran up to pressure out of curiosity, but finding the node at a speed I am happy with was a win-win. Main reason I don't push it faster is to extend the life of the unobtanium called ADG brass in 6.5 PRC.

.110 off the lands provided best accuracy at 100 yards, but i could get down to 20 though if I wanted

As a side note, for my 300 WM...I run it for speed and don't go after a node so my ES is closer to 30 FPS which is fine for a sub 750 yard hunting rifle.

Anyone have any experience using H4831SC with the 124HH? RL23 appears to be unobtanium rn

I would start with 50 grains and work my way up to pressure. This is based on barne's load data https://www.barnesbullets.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/6.5-PRC.pdf

My guess is that you will have pressure signs between 55 to 57 grains. Also as a FYI, VV560 is producing some insane results with that combo...guys are getting over 3400 fps.

Great looks on that, thanks! Fingers crossing I can get them sub MOA in the neighborhood of 3000 or 3100 FPS. Will try that Barnes data. You guys running magnum or standard large rifle primers for 6.5 PRC?

I tested 4831 in a 65SS with the 124's. It's real close in capacity and performance to the PRC.

These were all shot in the same sitting.

58.5 - 3181 with 215
58.5 - 3190 with 210
59 - 3205 with 210
60 - 3335 with 215, lots of pressure
