108gr ELD-M tolerance issues

good to know. Too bad they're letting vendors keep this product on the shelf. I have 3 different lot numbers all purchased over the last 3 months. Every lot is doing this.
I think a Go-No Go gauge is typically around a 6-thousandths difference, and your smith went 7-Ten-Thousandths deeper in the chamber, so I wouldn't think that would make any difference in your bolt closing.

Could the carbon ring have been the black Sharpie scratched off the bullet?

Did you try any other manufacturer's ammo in the chamber?

Hornady does offer a warranty. I would contact them and see what they say.

Eldm, eldx, federal smk and Berger classic hunter. They all had some level of interference with the hornady being the worst and most inconsistent. What I've learned is factory ammo tolerances need tightened up!!! I still have one eldm that you can't even begin to cam the bolt over. He used an alpha saami reamer. He took it an additional .0007 at my request. This gunsmith isn't a rookie and has chambered numerous barrels for competitors all over the nation. I have the utmost confidence in this guy.

My bolt closes fine on all those different ammo now. Going forward if I have any issues it's got to be carbon related in opinion.
