It's not real hard to find used Zeiss T* FL's for under 1K. Them and the Meostar's are right in there...Zeiss's better to my eye.

How do you know they are liberal?
There was a lot of trashing Republicans in one thread I was reading. Which was who the Maven marketing team was targeting according to some of the folks commenting.

Or rich. LOL
The rich part may have been a stretch. Based on the lists of optics some of those guys have bought, they have plenty of disposable income. And yes, they bought them. That was part of the argument...that they had to get them at full retail.

Remember, that's nearly their only expense. ;)

Hard to claim "rich" when I know a lot of hunters who spend more on one animal than they do on bins that last them 10 years.

I was in the same boat as you, looking at the same ones. Take a trip to the store you won’t regret it, I had to drive 4 hours so I could try out all 4 and it was worth it. For my eyes they didn’t care for the trinovid. They really like the cabelas/meopta Euros the best. The conquest and the Nikon hgs were super close behind in brightness and clarity. Only down fall for me about the meostar was weight. From what I’ve heard meopta, Nikon, and Zeiss all have pretty good customer services and warranty. Leica I’ve heard has improved, but they still don’t offer transferable warranty, like the other 3. If your patient and don’t mind buying used you can find a great deal on used binos maybe even an on a pair of slc’s. I went with the meostar/euro because for me they were on par with the slc’s and I was able to snag a pair of meostars for 500$ off eBay.

Will definitely 2nd the Meopta Meostars. They are built like a tank, weight is an issue for some. I've had mine for about a week so I'm still playing with them but the clarity edge to edge, low light capabilities and ergonomics are a close second to slc's. I hunted last season with borrowed slc's so Im not able to compare side by side but will say these things made me excited to do some glassing.

$1k should get a gently used set of Swaro SLCs on eBay. Lifetime warranty and reasonable refurbishment cost (should you ever need it) is hard to beat.

Alternatively, although there is a difference in glass quality for sure between Vortex and the top brands, it is rarely meaningful to me in real world conditions. I own and have used both of these brands, not just spouting what I don't know. Vortex Razor HDs are $1k or less street price and are darn good. Also lifetime warranty from solid American company.
