1 Vane.

It’s a single unit not a single vane, arguing about something you didn’t look at, nice.

It also spins a a much greater rate than vanes, so you proved it’s better by your own logic

I don’t care and just busting ya so don’t sweat it!

I can appreciate the effort. Not sure though. Seems like just a “bulkier” zinger. NAP quickfletch. The awesome “fletch nock”. A couple dozen Chinese singular molded one piece c*cksleeve with vanes ( get it?) that either shrink or glue on. Like he said yeah, those are okay. But what’s needed is more. More material. For those that hate to fletch, my buddy has used quickvanes for years. Work just fine. I tease him, but I think I must just be jealous of all the time he saves.

Eh **** it, I'm in for a dozen. Probably not gonna replace vanes for me but I'll dicker around with them for the heck of it. From some images it looks like they might even just be printed TPU, and I'd be very interested in a vane replacement I can manufacture at home if they work reasonably well. I suspect it'll be shit on a trad setup but I'll try it there too.

Not TPU, it stretchy like elastic, thinking like the stretch plastic for bass lures?

Haven’t had my hands on it but it’s not stiff and there are two sizes that fit most arrows so it has some stretch.

Zingers and others are made for your particular arrow.

Just got my pack in, and it almost certainly is TPU. Probably 90A or 95A. It's elastic enough to bounce back when crushed, but is still stiff enough to offer about as much resistance to having an apex bent as the AAE trad vanes (which are pretty soft). It does show creases when crushed and held for long enough, but does not elongate hardly at all when pulled on the long axis.

It's definitely printed, too. Layer lines are clearly visible, one of the apex lines shows an obvious seam, and there's another seam on one of the faces on top. There's a vague pattern on the bottom opening (point end) and the top (nock end) is smooth, so likely printed on a textured plate with the nock end of the vane pointed up.

Gut reaction is that I would have either preferred to see it injection molded rather than printed since some of these seams arent great, or a more intricate printed design (it's roughly a pyramid with a slight twist, would have liked to see some actual helical, or more curve between the apexes to reduce the frontal profile and drag).

Plan is to do up a dozen arrows with these. 3 each of field points and broadheads (probably M3 Montecs since I won't be using those on animals this year) on my Mathews, 3 with field points for my Satori to test durability (I predict they'll shoot like crap off the shelf, but it'll show if they can stand up to abuse).

The last 3 will be on arrows with turkey broadheads. I usually use a 4 fletch with 3" feathers, but judging from the profile these will be extra draggy so they might actually do a decent job while being less finnicky than the feathers. Plus, they might be quieter.

Edit to add - I got the micro size, they're 2" long and have an effective vane height of 0.5".

I setup 1/2 dozen shafts with them yesterday. The white 1Vane weighs 24.5 grains. I added a 10gr FAC weight to the 1/2 dozen shafts that are fletched with 2.25” TAC Drivers and they are within 1’ish grains of each other. Sure, slightly different FOC, but down range results are indistinguishable from each shaft configuration.

Shooting at 40 yards, the 1Vane and my
TAC vanes all group together.

I cannot distinguish any difference in sound.

Some days are better than other days, and yesterday was an “other” day for me. Today is a better day. Today is overcast, upper 70’s and breezy and I’m holding like I normally do on a better day.

the 1Vane handles wind very well

I snagged one yesterday and am still shooting it today. Even with a small snag hole in it, it flies fine and groups with the others at 40. I have no plans to remove and replace it.

Getting one of these on the first arrow took a minute, but then I realized you need to slip it over the nock and not try to stretch it over the end of the shaft.
I used a Scoth double sided tape to wrap around the shaft on thr forward edge where the front of the vane is. I dabbed the front of the 1Vane in alcohol and slipped it over the nock and in to place. I also dipped my finger in the alcohol and rubbed it over the tape to help with providing alignment once the vane was in place. Once dried it doesn’t slip when pulled or pushed.

I have never used this doubled sided scotch tape. It was frustrating until I realized you have to pull off the fist 8 inches, and then the rest is double sided. I was trying to peel it apart, lol.

I shot a little bit yesterday but hung it up early since it was an “other day”. I had a few shafts that needed a single vane replaced so I did that. It quickly reminded me how much disdain I have for glueing up vanes. Two bottles of CA glue. One clogged at the bottle. The other clogged at the tip. I have replacement tips but man, it sure is wasteful to waste a tip for just a few vanes. The 1Vane I shot through today, it took me less than a minute to remove the old one, dip a new in alcohol, and slide it in place and have it back in my quiver.

No issues with broadhead flight and the 1Vane either. I’m shooting Magnus Black Hornet’s shaft to shaft at 40 with field points.

I can’t speak to my accuracy with measuring, but the profile on the 1Vane is very similar to the 2.25 Tac Driver …. Somewhere around .423 inches.

Three 2.25” Tac Drivers weight 14.5 gr. One 1Vane weighs 24.5gr. Weighed on a calibrated Dillon reloading scale.

Arrow weight is 430gr. Velocity is 275fps. The arrows I have these on are Altra Centrum Premier 204’s. The have an OD OF .262. Fit of the Micro sized 1Vane seems just right.

For adding 10gr to the back with the 1Vane and adding 10gr to the front of the shafts with the TAC vanes, and achieving identical grouping and broadhead flight, I see no benefit to pulling out the fletching jig and glue ever again. Not to mention, I won’t have the worry of warped vanes from compression either. The 1Vane is the way forward for me, I think.

So now if I could only find store bought 45-70 that shoots MOA at 100yds. Maybe 1Vane will take up ammo next??
