0 degree sleeping bag

REI Magma 15. Goes on sale twice a year in May and in September for 25% off. Right around $300. Comes in three lengths and three widths ,so a size to fit anyone almost. I bought and used one last year, they are a great bag with 800 water proof down and amazing loft.
When in May does this go on sale? Looking to buy one

I’ve got an outdoor vitals zero, quite nice for the money, I sleep cold as anyone, it’s been good to 10 or so degrees for me.

i m using 0f or -18c sleeping bag but im farther north than you are and never felt it is too much especially end of september ...but it can be warmer or colder you never and mostly i cannot call a plane to get spare warmth lol ...

Sounds like you aren’t backpacking? Most the recommendations here are a little over board for what you need unless space and weight are an issue.

If it’s just a base camp style hunt the <$150 elk hunter bags from sportsman’s warehouse are more than sufficient and probably more comfortable for most people.

Something like this will keep you warm through about anything.

Elk Hunter -35

I’ve had one for a very long time and it still get’s the call over far more expensive backpacking down bags if I’m hunting from the truck.

For base camp or truck camping I use a 30 degree flannel lined Cabelas bag, if it cold say under 35 I throw an old comforter over me, it’s some old quilted poly thing and it’s crazy warm over the blanket.

I even sometimes rig it so it’s completely over my head but not touching me, hang it off something.

You can also rent very nice bags for trips from Feathered Friends in Seattle. Probably not worth it for a base camp trip, but they are fantastic if you’ll be carrying it on your back.

I have a feathered friends. Its pretty specialized kit though for true winter.

A 10 degree zen bivy takes you through any reasonable hunting conditions for most people.

as mentioned above if your camping from your truck it’s a different game from backpacking in. Also if you’re in a tent that provides 10ish degrees of comfort. I spend time in the mountains year round. Coldest bag I own is 15degrees and I’m one who would rather carry extra weight than be cold.
