Has the Ruger American Gen 2 been out long enough to be considered “proven”?

Are you asking if you should get a Ruger American Gen 2 or changing the subject? Just get the Ruger in whatever caliber you want. Not sure where you hunt, but they are only black bear.

What would you do with this rifle?

Seems kinda strange. Three of those are pretty dang good. Since it isn’t a specific shot out of the five, makes me wonder if it’s the gunner the shooter? I’m assuming you’re using bags and what not? Great looking gun. If you can’t narrow it down, I would keep it even if it’s just a safe queen.

What would you do with this rifle?

I’m guessing shots 4 and 5 were the ones to stray?

Has the Ruger American Gen 2 been out long enough to be considered “proven”?

I think we are just saying that you have some options that aren’t such a big difference. I’m all for supporting your LGS, but sometimes you have to stray or see if they can come to the table.

Has the Ruger American Gen 2 been out long enough to be considered “proven”?

I’m thinking you are looking at a difference of $100-$150. More depending on the model. I have handled both, and like both brands. It all comes down to what you prefer.

Has the Ruger American Gen 2 been out long enough to be considered “proven”?

The price difference really isn’t that much. I guess after you include all of the misc fees from transfer, mounts and what not it could be a lot, but just the bare rifle to rifle should be with in reason.

    Mathews Switchback XT

I’ve still got a switchback xt. I use it for my backup when I travel. Truthfully, I think they are so high because they are still a great bow! I ended up getting a phase 4 as my go to, but I can’t make myself move on from the switchback. Good luck with your search. It’s a great bow!

1986 Browning Abolt .243 - Should I jump on this?

Horrible logic!!! Of course he needs a wood stock 243!!! I’m pretty sure we all do! Make him an offer, but you should get it IMO!

Would you put the Ruger up against a CZ? Shooting like that seems pretty impressive.

    Tikka vs CZ - 22LR

I’m trying to get some real opinions on these two rifles. Hopefully all of the fan boys don’t chime in, and I can get some objective opinions. I just want to know which you think is better. Tikka is a great rifle but I’ve never shot one in 22 rimfire. Every CZ 22 I’ve ever shot (only 2) have...

    Preferred carbon VS. Proof carbon

I get it. I personally don’t have any carbon barrels and don’t really need any. I was just curious why he would only entertain proof.

Why is that? Have you had bad experiences with other brands?
