Primarily 6.5 284 Norma as i am not a sheeple. I also shoot 26 nosler and 6.5 300 wby in 6.5 cartridges. 6.5CM is a great bench rest target round, I will never use it for hunting.
I myself vote for 6mm. I am getting 3400fps with a 95gr Accubond shooting sub moa. I like to have a little more bullet with the game size possibilities you mentioned. Not knocking 22 just putting in my 2cents.
Another build project, sorry no range report yet, need to get time to scope it and take it out for zeroing. I started with a older Savage 110 Long Action. Machined the action to accept the long cartridge, did not take much. Ordered bottom metal and a magazine for it. Placed it in a Aluminum...
A buddy and I were chewing the fat in the machine shop and somehow we started talking about the inexpensive Savage Axis rifles. After a few beers and debate he basically challenged me to build one in a magnum. So I did, here is the Savage Axis 300WSM, as far as I know the only one in existence...
I had an extra action laying around, decided to build a 6mm Creedmoor. Topped it with a Meopta 5x30 Optika6. Loaded some 95gr Accubond with RL16 and took it to the range. Average speed 3400fps with a nice initial group.
I am starting to get the feeling you might think Biden is a great president...
My goodness you all seem to be a bunch of dumb-asses, you actually use firearms and hunt? This forum seems like it is full of retards. Anyone who knows what the heck they are talking about out there? Or am I...
You should not value my opinion or expertise you do not know me. However I am not sure what we are agreeing to disagree on? Is it that speed is not a multiplying factor in terminal performance? As a doctor I am sure you have seen bullet wound trauma, hi-powered rifle wounds look a bit different...
I am sure opinions very. Sorry if I hurt your feelings my sense of humor can be unappreciated. Honestly I have nothing against 6.5c a well placed bullet kills. I have taken over 800 deer in my life with everything from 22-250 to 300rum and it is MY experience speed kills better. Hince the US...
You seem rather simplistic in your logic and response. I suppose you are a simple minded fella. I have spent decades building rifles, testing bullet terminal effects etc. However if you KNOW better than good on you. You got a man bun to go with that Honda? HAHAHA
Federal Terminal Ascent 175 grain. In my not so humble opinion there is no better bullet for the hunt you are asking about. It is accurate, has good expansion and tons of penetration. The front half of the bullet is bonded lead core and the back half is solid copper that drives the mushroom deep.
