    Second season Colorado reports

I'm mostly seeing young bucks with does. Another hunter in camp killed a mature buck with some does yesterday so I guess it's possible to get lucky any day now.

7 PRC for costal brown bears?

I killed a 10'2" bear with Phil Shoemaker and used a .375 H&H with 260 grain Nosler Accubonds. Worked perfectly. While I'm sure you could kill a big bear with a 7 mm PRC, I don't think it would be the best choice.

Anyone familiar with Alamo’s APR VL Action?

The scope rail on the VL actions is normal pinned/screwed. It does have a built in recoil lug and comes nitrided. I had them put a short action on the scale and I was surprised at how light it was.

    Tripod For Shooting and Glassing

I run the exact same setup as Tbone26 - RRS TFCT-14 with the anvil 30 and PT scout head. It's about the best balance I've found between stability, shoot-ability and packability.

Trophy Elk: What's it to YOU

I think an old mature bull is a trophy. In terms of inches, I'd like to eventually kill one that measures 350 or bigger for a bull of a lifetime.

Which one are you choosing, NL Pure 14x52 or 10x52?

Is it worth trading in my NL Pure 12x42s for the 10x52s?

    Yukon Ram

Thanks for the advice, sounds like the extra room is really helpful if you need it but not a hindrance if you don't.

    Yukon Ram

Congratulations on a great ram! I'm headed to the Yukon next September for a Dall. Do you think the 7200 size pack is the way to go? My outfitter's gear list says to buy a pack between 4500-5500 cubic inches but I'd love to get your thoughts. Thanks.
