Seems like the point of the Tempilaq is just to use a few times when setting up your process. You don’t need to keep using it. You can just go through all the calibers you potentially are going to load for and see how long the optimal time is to heat using whatever process you use (your hand, a...
First, yes, the use of the term “fragmenting” probably isn’t a wise choice by the previous poster. That aside…
The guide is going to say that simply because the interpretation is that you’re a novice if you call and ask that.
If a well known hunter, Warren, Rinella, etc called up and said...
I never said “damage”. I said a broadhead works by “direct cutting and contact”. Literally the same word you used.
Yes, an arrow can absolutely be incredibly effective. I’m arguing though that simply because an agency has said that they are legal to use, doesn’t make them intrinsically more...
That’s the double standard talking. We’re so used to certain things being viewed as taboo. I’m not saying you should use a 223, or 243, but it’s not less effective. Again, a bow hunter is waiting for an immaculate shot. Immaculate preparation to make sure their shot is perfect. That’s the...
I don’t feel like it’s much of an argument. Assuming that you’re using the best options for both bullet and arrow, a 223, 22-250, 243, and 22 Creed are all far more devastating on tissue using standard expanding ammunition than a bow is using a broadhead.
A broadhead is going to be similar to...
Two main rifles for medium to large game, with another one that could pressed into service for medium game if needed.
Plus any number of smaller caliber or semi-autos that could be used for coyote and other small game hunting.
I’m a side sleeper and the most important features for me for preventing sore backs is the type pad thickness, as well as my pillow.
I tried a few different pads (Thermarest, solid foam, knockoffs, etc) and eventually found that the Klymit pads were best for me for evenly distributing weight...
No further regulation is needed. Unfortunately as we continue to have less and less real problems to deal with, people will come up with more and more minor issues to try and “address”.
Is it BLM land? There are some interesting riparian water right rules. Not in any way saying that would apply, but there are a few different allowances for bordering private land to utilize water that is on public* land.
Edit: accidentally said private land instead of private.
Do you have rings from this manufacturer that aren’t “0.5 degrees” off?
I guess what I mean is, if these are your only samples, and this is a high quality scope ring brand, and ALL four of your samples have the exact same…problem…it would make me consider if my methodology is correct, or if...
There definitely can be a transition with any new diet but making sure you get enough dietary fiber is huge, and plays a massive role in regulating your bowels, as well as having a lot of other health benefits such as on cholesterol and blood sugar. So, you may consider adding a morning scoop...
Are you able to bore scope the barrel? Anyone else available to shoot it just to double check? How many groups are we talking about that haven't grouped well?
Most 20” sporter profile bolt guns with a lightweight stock plus a reasonably lightweight scope are going to be sub 8lbs pretty easily.
You could pretty much grab any sporter 20” in whatever medium to smaller caliber you want, throw it in a carbon stock, Talley scope rings, a Leupold 2-7x...
We’ve got about a $1000 to $1200 every month that is completely free and clear, maybe a little more, but we also put a $1000 into retirement/investments every month (on top of normal employer 401k/403b), and spend about $1100 on gymnastics for our daughter. I mention those last two figures...
Well, either way, we’re talking about a budget scope and a guy who just wants to get some better use out of it. It’s a simple adjustment that a lot of people do, and isn’t permanent.
I’ve shown him how it’s accomplished and will leave it at that.
Yes. Basically.
The value of your scope, based on EBay and a couple of other sites is like $200-350 dollars, depending on condition.
He’s not really modding it, he’s just adjusting parallax. It’s going to look exactly the same and function exactly the same, but just meet his eye and distance...
Right? I have a Leupold VX2 ultralight 2-7x28 that had a one time run in high gloss, and it is a beautiful scope that sits on top of a high gloss blue CZ527 in 7.62x39. Can’t ever sell that gun or scope. Just too dang good looking.
At the end of your objective scope is a ring. It’s the last 1/4” or 1/2” of the end of the outer section of the scope (just past the gold ring, the gold ring is also it’s own piece). Unscrew that using a strap wrench or something non-marring. Do this with the scope at max magnification.
You...
