    6.5 CM - 130 TMK or 147 Eldm

I’m running a 22” barreled xbolt with 130tmk’s. Velocity with h4350 near max is 2,840fps. This year is the year to find out what they’ll do. My vote is TMK, they were cheaper for me. Based on the 77tmk it made my decision easier.

    129gr ABLRs in 6.5 Grendel

120 Nosler BT’s out of a Howa mini for me are 2290fps at 27.3gr of tac and are 2,474fps at 28.0gr of tac. Both at 2.245. 28gr is Nosler book max.

    129gr ABLRs in 6.5 Grendel

Excellent! I’ve had great luck with load development from my Howa mini with Nosler BT, 120eldm, 123sst, 120tgk. It’s been a fun gun to reload for.

WTS Browning Xbolt predator hunter 6.5 Creedmoor

I’m putting up for sale my 6.5 Creedmoor browning xbolt. I have zero reason to sell this other than I want a shorter barrel for suppressing. I won’t take the chance of cutting this one because it’s perfect like it is. This one does everything I want it to, but in an oversized fashion. It won’t...

How much money after everything is paid for?

Also, don’t forget that 3-6 month emergency fund. That’ll keep those investments safe, when you have it to fall back on.

Pics of animals you weren't hunting

Opening day of squirrel season. She was about 5 minutes behind her would be breakfast that came from the field to the woods. I was already in the glass when she hit the woods. One 22 Eley subsonic was all it took at 25y. The shot made a squirrel alert, and it was in my window of opportunity also...

    6.5 Grendel Sierra 120 TGK

Agreed. I would have rather had a 120 TMK with what I know now.

    6.5 Grendel Sierra 120 TGK

I’ve yet to shoot those 28gr loads, but the 28.2 load produced an average of 2492fps from an 18.5” barrel. My guess is the 28gr load will be 2475ish.

    6.5 Grendel Sierra 120 TGK

I bought some to load for the Grendel also. I hope they do well in the Grendel since Sierra specifically mentions they were designed for it. I half way cut one open to see how thick the jacket was. First time I’ve ever attempted something like this. Note the image on the right is from another...

    Reloading Component Availability?

To me large rifle primers have been difficult to obtain for 4-5 years. That’s starting to ease, but they are $.10 each now. That was followed by powder. Your super popular stuff like Varget was gone for a good while. Now it hits the market in waves and the prices have climbed by the pound...

So, you went smaller caliber, but not down to .223…

I started in my 20’s with a .270. I became recoil sensitive pretty quick and opted for a 243. Had a buddy that liked the .25-06 so I ran that for a bit. That brought me into the world of reloading. I’ve completely quit the .270 for NC whitetails. Sold the .25-06. Bought a used 6.5 Creedmoor...

    Taking SS early (62)

You should be eligible for the Rule of 55 with your current employers 401k. I’m not a financial advisor and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but I do study this stuff on a regular basis. https://moneyguy.com/article/the-rule-of-55-explained/

    Taking SS early (62)

Thats kinda my angle however I’m 18 years out. My thought is take it at 62, and let the snowball of compounding in our retirement rollover again and be way bigger, while spending the 62 SS check to keep it that way. Won’t know till I’m much closer. Longevity is likely mid 80’s

How do you pay for your gear?

Comes from my fun money saved over time. I also utilized 0% credit cards and pay it off before the promotional period ends. I’ve slowly upgraded stuff as I go. Last to get upgraded was camo clothing. I’ve enjoyed lighter weight, purpose built camo. Probably my favorite upgrade is a pair of...

    What’s your go to?

Youth day will kick off my season so I’m going to put my Howa 1500 6.5 Grendel in my daughter’s capable hands. Load will be 120gr Nos BT, 27.3gr of Tac 2,290fps Opening day we’ll have a little more range so it’ll be the Xbolt in 6.5 Creedmoor. Load will be 130gr Sierra TMK, 42.6gr of H4350...
