Like mentioned above, high quality 10's will work great for a lot of your glassing. 15's / 18's are a huge plus to have with you, but not 100% necessary (I'm sure some would argue this point, and it's a totally valid argument).

I’m generally in A zone for archery and the early part of rifle, and then D3-5 for rifle.
I’ve not ever hunted LPNF, but I’ve done a bit of camping and hiking there. It can be pretty damn steep, with lots of poison oak.
In the peak of summer there isn’t much water, so if you find a spring, chances are good you’ll see wildlife.
