I have not but I will second your interest. I don’t currently own a scope higher than 10 power. And it’s all I need for good hits to 600 plus. I sent Maven some feedback asking for a pull up/push down locking elevation turret. Looks like I wasn’t the only one. I’d love to get my hands on one.
I’m glad I went 16 with mine. I have shot terminal ascent, but it was before I had a chronograph. I do barely stay supersonic at 900. Though I bet with hand loading and the right bullet I would be good to 1000. So depending on what matches you shoot it won’t make the velocity cut if that is...
just finished my 18 inch 6.5PRC build that has been my summer project.
I was hoping for 2800 plus, I’ve only chronographed one factory load, federal terminal ascent. It’s all I have right now.
Getting 2750-2780. Pretty Big SD.
I’m interested in this thread. If anyone has chrono data...
Ditto. I’ll wear my bino harness on top if needed. It’s been a great holster if admittedly overpriced. Gunfighters in general make great stuff. Their ronin OWB holster is my favorite.
Send them an email. The link was not working for me a few weeks ago, the notify link.
Not sure if the wider scale internet issues have been playing a role.
They sent me a personal reply within 10 hours. And apparently added me to the notify list.
My experience with Maven has been above...
Tikka compact .308 chopped and threaded to 16”, suppressed. 3x15 Burris. Prone over pack @ 100yds. First ever 10 round group. Here’s to improving next time! 🍻
What is your preferred method for keeping your suppressors from moving/loosening? I run direct thread and am reflexively checking for tightness after having my can loosen up a few times. I see something on the threads there.....something that will withstand the heat? Thanks!
Yeah that’s the route I went. The muzzle diameter at 16” will want 1/2x28 threads. but I had a stainless permanent adapter machined 5/8x24 with a nice shoulder for mounting a can. Then ceracoated the barrel and action.
Having done both, doing the extra work for the 5/8x24 is worth it.
I have noticed some pretty big velocity differences with factory loads from lot to lot. When possible I try to buy a bunch of the same lot number for consistency. An acquaintance was chronographing a 7PRC with factory hornady cx copper and had and avg velocity change of 90fps from two different...
Sometimes it’s the intangibles. I would decide based on what YOU like.
I’ve decided that is the most important quality in a cartridge or firearm.
I’ve seen many a person buy something based on stellar reviews or recommendations. Only to have it sit because they don’t actually like it.
If you...
Wyoming pronghorn last year. 270 yards.
85 grain Barnes tsx at 3200 mv
Impact velocity estimated 2450 ish.

Hey folks,
New member, couple year lurker. I thought I’d post some numbers I would have liked to have when I was chopping my .308.
I wish I could reload but rental situation isn’t reloader friendly. So, I acquired a chronograph and went to work with factory loads. Velocities are only the median...
