    Dog wont eat dry food well

    I switched my Vizsla from PPP Salmon & Rice 30/20 to Inukshuk 30/25 last year and he stopped eating the Inukshuk and wouldn't eat the Pro Plan when I tried to put him back on that. I switched him to Nutrisource Performance 30/20 and we haven't had any issues these past couple of months.

    I'm lucky so far....knock on wood....just minor barbed wire cuts. My friends dog ran into a chunk of old t post last year. Nasty puncture wound that eventually healed up.

    I just ordered some amplified ear protection for hunting, dog training and running in hunt tests. I wear ear muffs mowing my yard now too. My dad had lost his hearing as he got older and I don't want the same, so I'm protecting what I have left.

    We'll be hunting in Lycoming County. I live in the midwest now and do a lot more bird hunting than deer these days but I'm looking forward to coming home.

    We'll be hunting in North Central PA. I sold my land up there a few years ago but I grew up hunting PA State Game Lands. He got married and moved back east, so I need to go back and show him around, so he knows where to go and how to hunt it. I'm looking forward to it.

    2024 Plans & Gear Upgrades

    I've been buying some 20 gauge ammo, a second pair of upland paints and a couple new shirts. I also bought a bird bag, 3 toe tip releases and a remote bird launcher for training. I'm hoping I can finish my Vizsla SH title this fall before the season starts.

    I've started that process. Like a lot of things, Dr's have their preferences for procedure, lenses etc., and not all are created equal. I'm going to take my time and figure it out but I've already decided I'm not having it done in NW Arkansas. I take my wife up to the Mayo Clinic every 3 months...

    I'm due for new glasses so I went and got my eyes checked and found out that I have a cataract in my left eye. Surgery will fix it. With glasses, I can see fine and because it's my left eye, it doesn't affect my shooting so I am going to roll with it for another year and see what it looks like...

    Multi-tool

    I have a wave and a sidekick. I really like the sidekick. Small and spring loaded. I normally leave the wave in camp and carry the smaller tool much more often.

    Your Elk Hunting Rifle

    I had a 300 WM built by RW Hart about 30 years ago. Hart barrel on a Rem ADL action and McMillion stock. I killed all my elk with this rifle. A couple Canadian bucks too. The best shots I ever made on game were with this rifle.

    What time do all you geezers get up in the morning?

    At first light. My hunting dogs normally have to go the bathroom and then want breakfast, so pretty early most days.

    My male Vizsla needed a break from training but we are going to gradually get back into it.
