    Reticle Movement when Shooting

Precisely. NPOA is what one fixes when they chase the reticle with their hips. If the rifle bounces left, move your belt buckle left... Often it is only a few inches needed. BTW, shots can be spotted much closer than expected when NPOA, cheek weld and shoulder pressure are correct. Precisely...

    Reticle Movement when Shooting

I think you'll quickly see the difference. Think of the mechanics of resisting/absorbing recoil forces. Being straight behind the rifle is taught at sniper schools and serves the purpose of making the sniper a smaller target and reducing muzzle jump. Being a well-conditioned 20 year old in top...

    Reticle Movement when Shooting

Chase the reticle with your hips. Straight behind the rifle has military value, but violates your natural point of aim and is causing your problem. Just because the military does something a certain way doesn't mean it's right - ANY veteran can affirm this. If your rifle recoils left, move...

    Squirrel Pistol

I use a TC Contender with a 10" octagon barrel and a 1.5x scope with .22 shorts and it's murder on squirrels. If you want to suppress it, look at the bull barrel model and have it trimmed to a handy length and threaded.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I'm digging through my powders, looking to use something on hand for 77 TMKs in a 223. I have a slew of Varget and a bunch of H4895 and IMR4895, which seem to be in the range, but I see most people here are getting relatively low velocities with these. Found a couple jugs of WC 846, which is...

Suppressor covers - who's and why

I'm using mine as 'direct thread' mounting because the cans essentially live on each rifle, so I really cannot provide a direct answer. The opening in the back is about 1" in diameter relaxed and it stretches slightly to go over a 1-1/4" prescription pill bottle pretty easily. Hope that helps.

Suppressor covers - who's and why

I have "SAS3" covers from TAB Gear and I'm very pleased with them. https://www.tabgear.com/collections/supressor-covers/products/sas1-sas2-sas3-sasr-suppressor-antimirage-shield Measured my suppressors and sent them the dimensions. Fits perfectly and is of the design that slides on from the...

Are Talley rings a reliable choice?

Bought a used Ruger American (Ranch 5.56) not long ago that came with a pair of Talley ring-mounts. I used them to mount a scope and although I was impressed at how cheap they seem, I haven't broken them yet. I had planned to replace them later, but I guess that should be sooner than later.

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Well...I've finally finished this here entire thread. Holy cow, what a huge amount of information! I'm surprised at the ability of the 77 TMKs to penetrate relatively large bone and still provide enough penetration and wound channel to effect clean kills. I'm not at all surprised at the overall...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

I'd make three points in favor of light-recoiling rifles: 1) As pointed out above, differences in recoil fade when prone and/or well supported. In hunting situations there are times when one must violate their NPOA and the heavier the recoil, the less flexibility one has with position before...
