    For $1300, I’d consider a Leupold vx-5HD with a Boone and Crockett reticle. I got mine for about 65% of that and have found it to be very satisfactory.

    Favorite .270 Winchester Bullet Type/Weight

    Every gun is different. Between my boys and I, we have 5 270s. Everyone has their “best load”. However, the bullet that does good in all of them is the Sierra Gameking 140… Hornady 130 grain Interlock is another consistently good option.

    Sierra 6.5 mm145 gr TGK

    I’ve used the 130 gr TGK in my 6.5x55 for the last 3 years.. It is superbly accurate (1/2MOA) and deadly. I’ve taken 7 deer now between 4-500 yds. Nothing has gone more than about 10 yards after kill. I’ve just picked up some 140s for my 6.5 PRC but i haven’t got the time to load and test yet.

    Let’s discuss the 6.5x55 SE

    My Tikka settled in @ 2825 with 130 gr Sierra gamechangers and 47.8 Reloader 23. Most 5 shot strings are under 10 FPS on the ES. Took 3 deer between 350-425 yards last year.

    Take a look at Tract optics.. Most are made in Japan.. I think the low-end Response and the rimfire are Philippines. But I''m very happy with the 3 that I have.
