Thanks for the info so far, I'm not sure if my PM is working yet, may not have my 10 posts, but if either of you would be willing to answer some more specific questions PM me please. Thanks,
Alaskan resident here planning to hunt the registration area for mountain goat the first week of October. Just curious if anyone on here has hunted kodiak that time of year and would be willing to give me advice as far as gear you would or wouldn't take and also what the deer hunting is like...
I shoot a .257 Weatherby, never hunted mountain goats but will be an Alaska resident next year and am hoping to go to Kodiak to hunt, will the 257 be good or should I get a bigger caliber?
Every once in a while I make my way out to florida to shoot hogs with my brother and all the ones we have shot out there have tasted pretty good as long as the meat was put on ice quick. I've also killed a few wild hogs in Arizona, yes, wild hogs, not Javelina, and they were the nastiest things...
I just moved into Palmer a few months back and will be hunting black bears this spring once I get residency, any advice or tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated
