Pics to come but I got my 300blk Solo to 4lbs 6oz suppressed (3lbs 11oz, unsuppressed) going to try and hit the range this week as August was a killer busy month for me with zero range time. I'm excited to lug this thing around the woods!
Here is it in its final form. I was interested in using 300bo as a hunting round, especially with the fast twist and new ammo that's been coming out that opens up at subsonic velocities so unlike you heathens I kept with the Solo300 naming! My goal here was short barrel, lightweight, suppressed...
I was starting with nothing, but if I was going to trick something out I'd almost rather start with the tricked out parts than buy a full gun and replace parts. This is going to be fun!
Well last night I did myself dirty and bought an 12" 8.6bo barrel to try and replicate my 300bo build but with a larger caliber. I love the idea behind that Atloppshop CD-10 (AR10) but damn that cost is a killer. I haven't asked Solo300 if he's willing to sell his detent separately but he...
I'm a wholly opportunistic (when I have some time) squirrel hunter. I rarely go during deer season, although this year I plan on bringing a suppressed 22 single shot. I always treat it as hiking in Jan/Feb. with a rifle. The leaves are down so they're extra squirrely which makes it extremely...
I think I've bailed on the SBR idea, this gun will primarily get used in SC and I live in NC. I did just order a folding brace (6oz) and combined with a polymer lower I think I can get this to a hair over 4lbs suppressed. Bonus is I already own the hogue grip from another AR.
Funniest part of...
7.5" 300 blackout Bolt gun
Well here she is minus the handguard and optic(due this week!). Sitting at 3.9 lbs/ 63oz. (mag, not loaded). I can’t help but think I can turn this barrel down a bit and pull a few ounces, same with the gas block.
You know there is a bunch of weight in that brace...
Meat should be cubed with Puerco Pibil but Cochinita is specifically suckling pig as opposed to shoulder. We shredded it right off the bones into the juices below. My only complaint was not enough salt, which I generally never have an issue with.
Saw Peacegeek had these 8.5" .223wydle barrels with no gas port drilling that could be SWEET for a solo build

I primarily use 22mags on squirrels but I have an old Marlin bolt action and a more recent pick-up, Chiappa Little Badger. That Lil badger is a blast, its so lightweight and I put a Leupold 4x on it. Once I get out of silencer jail, that will tame that 22mag crack down a bit.
Lurked here for info on mostly firearm or pig related topics over the years but finally decided to make an account after I kept pinging threads about ultralight rifle builds through google. Looks like it's a great place and have already learned a ton through 7-8 posts...
Wanted to give an update here, Our '22 Bronco Badlands w. sasquatch, 4cyl w. manual is now 2 years in dealing with me using it as a hunting/camping vehicle. No problems with it, immensely capable and decent to drive.
Ours is a soft top, which either works for you or it doesn't. Not having to...
There is some beautiful country around the NC/TN border with some great turkey and deer hunting in those mountains. If the hills are a bother I'd consider closer to WS like Hickory/Statesville. You're right in the pocket of Pisgah while being super close to WS.
