I totally agree with the person above who said they carried both for a day or two in WY, and then left the spray behind. I had the same experience in NM. Tried carrying spray and had my 10mm while scouting. Took me exactly 2 days to decide the spray wasn't worth carrying (IMO). gusting and...
Love my mega tarp! I love having the stove on one end when needed, and having two exits. I can store wood easily behind and around the stove, and not have to work around it to get out like I do in my supertarp which only has the one exit.
Never hunted Colorado so i cant provide any comparisons. But the areas I have hunted in NM, WATER is key and can be hard to find at times. You cant count on finishing off your water bottle and just refilling at the next stream crossing.
Not much help I know....but its worth a couple cents...
Just noticed some lower prices on closeout items on the kifaru website for anyone interested. They have Duplex lite frames for 275 and reckoning bags (my bag of choice) for 225, plus a handful of other items. Just figured id throw it out there for anyone in the market for backpack system for the...
Is she in charge of the department? LOL ..OH.....she worked WITH the people in her department. They don't work for her? Hmmmm.....the deputy must have done it and she can't speak on that? OMG...

This was our first year trying the hunt tests. Id swear it actually set us back a bit in the training and discipline. During my labs last test (thankfully he passed and got his started title) , we had to work thru 3 "no birds" in a row.
For those curious; a no bird is when the bird in the...
Now that we got him the HRC started title, the next few months will be water work, lots of heal work, exercise before it gets too hot, Casting training on land/ Cast to a pile, Mini T, T Pattern, etc. Once we start getting HOT (here in west texas) we will tail things off for the heat of summer...
If im going out for the whole day, i pack a lunch and dinner plus snacks. All of the options mentioned above at some point or another. For a whole day hunt, im bringin the stove too typically, and will carry a Mountain house meal, plus a hot chocolate pack or instant coffee.
Doing this will...
Oh...and FYI for folks in West Texas.....I saw a big buck last night with horns still on. So they haven't all dropped yet, for those curious about shed hunting their dogs this season.
Been working our Chocolate Lab Gunner all winter long. After hunting season ended, I went right back to bumpers. We are working hard on heel, and for the last few weeks we were prepping for our first HRC Hunt Test. Over the weekend we got two passes in the "Started Level" for HRC. In a few...
