    High BC copper bullets?

I have used the Barnes lrx with good luck, I have harvested many whitetails and pigs. I even pushed it out to 550yds. I wanted to try 1000+ but the Barnes seemed lacking and moving with the wind. The goal was to pick a bullet that can be used for range/target and hunting as well. I like the...

    High BC copper bullets?

I have experience with the Barnes lrx. Has anyone experienced the cutting edge bullets? They have a 125gr solid copper with an estimated g1 bc of .530 and a g7 of .273? Is that accurate? They also say reliable down to 1600fps

Bowhunting Accuracy: Arrow Speed vs. Weight

Thanks for the visual. That helped me comprehend. Well upon inspection, the lighted nocks I have are a tad slimmer than the factory black eagle nocks that the soft nocks were put in place for. So the lighted nocks have more up and down travel within the loop than the non lighted nocks. That I...

Bowhunting Accuracy: Arrow Speed vs. Weight

I just listened to the podcast and I had one question. Lighted nocks? to you try to incorporate them into your arrow build or just forget about them? I sighted my bow in without them and when I installed it added about 10-15grs to the arrow. didn't think it was much of a difference but I'm...

    Long range practice? Ammo suggestions

Good deal! I have a savage axis in 6.5 cm already. So that will be the primary practice rifle. A replacement barrel for the axis shouldn’t be too pricey. At least I’m not going to put a nice barrel on it. But I do plan on trying out a weatherby 307 in 6.5 cm

    Long range practice? Ammo suggestions

I have a box of 140gr eldm that I haven’t used yet. I do practice with a .22 and a 223. But it was more so geared to building confidence in a weapon system

    Long range practice? Ammo suggestions

This is applied ballistics based on what I think MV and shooting conditions will be. But the Berger 156 starts slow but holds onto it like a s.o.b. I will like to go out west but that’s way down the line. Focus right now is whitetail in Texas

    Long range practice? Ammo suggestions

This I knew. I have one rifle that uses the monos. The ammo would be for a different rifle that’s in the works. I like the penetration with monos but don’t like the lack of BC and SD for long range.

    Long range practice? Ammo suggestions

I have a range at the ranch I work on that goes out to a mile. I’m putting together a 20” (w/ a can) 6.5cm who’s primary duty is shooting whitetail out to 300-350yds. As far as hunting/practice ammo I currently use a Barnes 127 lrx monos and for hunting it’s been great, but it’s not an ideal...

    Federal New Cartridge

From what I’ve heard and read, many manufacturers already test at higher pressures so the actions should hold up. I will be waiting for a 6.5 version or if the 7 shows to be potent, I could get one of them

6.5 creedmoor suppressed optimal barrel length

I’ve been looking at the 130 Berger elite hunter, 130 terminal ascent, and the 140 Berger. Mainly whitetail and target shooting

    Federal New Cartridge

As someone who doesn't reload this new cartridge or at least the tech around it is interesting. Most of my hunting is 350yds and in for whitetails. I would love a 280AI cause I think its a cool round but factory ammo makes it a bit counterintuitive. I shot factory loaded 127lrx 6.5 creed out of...

6.5 creedmoor suppressed optimal barrel length

I hunting in East texas shooting whitetail and pigs mainly. Longest shot on a whitetail is probably like 350yds max. The furthest I’ve actually shot was like 206. We do have a range that goes out to a mile but that is just for fun I’m not going to be competing. I’m thinking I’m settled on a...

6.5 creedmoor suppressed optimal barrel length

Does anyone have experience running 127gr- 135gr bullets out of a 20" barrel with a can? I currently shoot 127gr Barnes LRX running but I want to try the federal 130gr terminal ascent and the 130 berger hybrid match. factory ammo only. I dont reload
