Dialing in draw length arial view

I guess I didn’t catch that in all the reviews. I was thinking I saw one review that said this bow was pretty close to actual. I have a draw board so I can find out for sure.

Dialing in draw length arial view

I agree with this. I shot my old Martin for years set at 29.5 and got used to it. One day last year I bumped it up to 30 and couldn’t believe how much better it felt. Apparently I had gotten used to a wrong length.

I understand. Both feel good. I shot 30 for a day and then tried 30.25 for a couple days. At first I thought the longer felt better but I did notice after a lot of shooting and fatigue started to creep in, I could feel myself slightly creeping off the back wall. I went back to 30 last night and...

"Falling out" of your peep at longer distances

Well depends. For hunting big game yes. For 3d and those pesky 12 rings I am struggling to gap shoot at odd yardages. I can usually hit the 10 ring but my brain can’t process the imaginary pin on a spot the size of quarter if it’s 25,35,33 yards etc. this is where I think a slider would be awesome

What Fletching glue are you all using.

Put the bottle in a zip loc bag in the fridge. That’s what I’ve heard others say. Never tried it. I’m constantly ripping vanes and wraps off with group shooting so a bottle of glue doesn’t last me long enough to dry out. Once though I had a bottle of Bohning CA and it was quite a few ounces and...

What Fletching glue are you all using.

I like to use what works and what has proven itself to me. I’ve thought of switching vane brands but I keep using my favorite company’s vanes and that’s q2i. I just love them regardless of which design. I glue them to wraps I make myself and I use Loctite super glue. The gel works best as far as...

"Falling out" of your peep at longer distances

I get it. I was meaning I tinker so much that I get tired of it lol. The more I get tired of tinkering the more I just want to “set it and forget it” 😂. I shoot a 5 pin fixed so it technically doesn’t apply to me anyways but sometimes think of getting a slider. I just don’t want to keep messing...

    the mule stabilizer

Back yard bows has talked about that quite a bit lately. Myself I just don’t think I can get into it. Looks kinda weird or maybe a gimmick but that’s coming from someone who’s never used one or never seen one outside of pictures.

I saw this same video this morning. That seems like a lot of work.

How does my arm alignment look? This is 30” draw which I measure out at. Debating between 30 and 30.25”. They both feel good. It’s hard to tell. I’m sitting on a creeper seat so I’m guessing my posture isn’t the best but I tried to sit up straight.

Fletching with the spine of the arrow

Thank you. I’ve fletched plenty of arrows through the years but this whole spine alignment is something I just started hearing about in the last year. I’ve chosen to ignore it although I’ve fletched about 4 dozen shafts in the last 12 months. I was just curious. That’s why I posted.

Fletching with the spine of the arrow

Well, here’s the thing I’m not having clearance issues. All of my arrows are shooting great. I was asking about spine aligning when I get ready to fletch up some more shafts down the road. I wasn’t trying to get into an I’m having issues with my new bow thread. It just kind of migrated there...

    Release Recommendations

I’ve been told if you have flinching issues switching releases is not going to fix it. The problem will follow and personally I believe that. My son shoots a thumb button (Stan’s Onnex) and I’ve caught him flinching. A buddy of mine shoots a thumb button and he jerks so bad that at times the...

Fletching with the spine of the arrow

Thanks for clarifying this. I knew gold tips and other brands had that mark but didn’t realize Easton had something proprietary to their process. This is interesting

Fletching with the spine of the arrow

Hoyt alpha x. He told me they had tight cable clearances compared to some other bows. In fact one of the arrows of his own he was testing out if it to compare was fletched with blazers and at first he thought he might have been getting contact but then he ruled out that he didn’t think so. I’m...

Fletching with the spine of the arrow

I wouldn’t have even started this thread if the tech at the shop Saturday hadn’t brought it up when he was tuning my new bow. I brought in new arrows built myself, 300 spine Easton 6.5 match grade with 4 fletch on a wrap. The issue was I am left-handed and like most archers he was right. But...

Fletching with the spine of the arrow

The problem might be is when you’re nock tuning if where the arrow would tear the best you’ve got a vane sticking straight at 9 o’clock towards your cables. On my new Hoyt, it doesn’t have the clearance that some of these other bows do and that would probably cause fletching contact. Other than...

Fletching with the spine of the arrow

I have Easton 6.5 match grades and when I was picking up my new bow this weekend, the guy was shooting through paper at the shop. He tried several of his arrows along with mine and mine was not getting as good a tear. He rotated the nock to lineup the word Easton at the top and he got a good...
