Excuse my ignorance, I don't reload at all (or yet) but why would you do this exactly? Seems like both ways accomplish the same velocity out of the barrel which results in the same QD and effective range right? A longer barrel with less powder charge seems like it would give (marginally) less...
Curious what your bullet/velocity combo are and what your QD number is? This new rifle I'm planning to have built hopefully will line up with a QD number close to 2 when shooting past 300 yards for some real easy math.
👍
I don't have the factory stock so someone would need to buy the barreled action separately but I'll keep ya in mind if something obscure like that happens ha
I bought the Ultralite last year hoping it would be my end-all be-all rifle for my all my future hunts. I'm left handed and I've always shot right handed rifles throughout my life so I just learned to run them that way and never thought twice about it. I'm a new hunter as of the last 5 years and...
Just pre-ordered one this morning!
If the pace is slow for pre-orders would Unknown consider only ordering 50 rifles if they could get 25 pre-orders? Just thinking about getting us late to the game guys their rifles sooner 😁
I assume there is a minimum batch order but can't hurt to wonder.
The OGL is the longest and shortest (installed) can I own and it fit my needs perfectly based on it's design. Shorter installed length, better balance point and fit over my carbon barrel. May not be the quietest can on the market but I didn't buy it for that one specific trait anyways. It knocks...
This post probably won't be as helpful, but sometimes it's your mental resilience that matters more that the gear. I hunt with a couple buddies who are wrapped in all the high tech sitka kuiu SG stuff and they still complain about being cold.. meanwhile I'm rocking a set of Browning hydro fleece...
Would November snow and freezing temps affect your choice? Would hate for whatever gun you choose to have problems with the cold temps and not cycle properly or fail to cycle due to ice etc.. Just food for thought.
I would think and lever action or pump action would be best because you could...
I'm surprised no one has mentioned using a red dot or at the very least a low power 1x or 2x prism.
I know they're not a scopes per se, but after my first time timber hunting this last weekend in an area where I was never be able to see further than 100 yards due to tree density and the hilly...
