100% agree with 7mm-08. I've had great experiences with NR/Res and bad experiences with NR/Res. I always treat everyone as respectfully as possible and hope it's reciprocated, most of the time it is, in my experiences.
Was out on a spring Bear hunt and heard some movement behind me while I was glassing. Turned around and saw this guy walking around.

This would be my vote. My son has been shooting a 6.5cm (Savage 110) that I got for him since he was 9, with no problems whatsoever. IMO it would meet and exceed all of your criteria.
I’ve got a Flickr as well that I update fairly regularly, although I’m new to the photography world.

I agree, you’ve got some fantastic work in your portfolio Craig, following.

A couple morning visitors in my Elk camp a couple years ago.
And some turkeys during a mule deer hunt. First time seeing albino turkeys on public land.

I would second the 6.5cm or 308 vote for a plinking, longer range rifle. Even cheaper if you reload, or at least it used to be when you could find powder for a decent price.

Sounds better than the current December 1st fiasco. I’m a res, but have family members that are NR that have been screwed over a couple times with the online system.

I used to carry an 18-140mm, but recently switched to a 35mm prime. It saves weight and the 35mm is great if I want to shoot video. Not to mention its a faster lens which works great in low light situations.
I used a TTR-230 last year to head up some single track. Worked great, bike had plenty of even power going up some steep country and handled well and I'm a pretty big guy (6' 4" 250lbs). Would definitely come in handy on trails open to two wheels but closed to 4.
